Haha, I wish I had all that time off...

Just buy heaps of purple travel passes, and buy extensions when you want to go out of the suburban area. Ie rock up to the station and (lets say you're going north) ask for a ticket from Cowan to Gosford return. They'll check your travelpass and then sell you a ticket between Cowan and Gosford. If transits check your ticket, just show them both, and all is well.

Wow, what a boring job that would be. You would need hundreds of staff to monitor every deck of every carriage. Might be good if you like a good perve on females/males/whatever your taste is.

Locking a gate is not going to stop you from walking around it, unless you have platform screen doors.

There also used to be some weekday services which stopped at Kembla Grange (on request) until the 2005 timetable change.

I believe that sign might have said "Next Station... Kembla Grange" being the racecourse. They may have written over it as the racecourse is only used on weekends and as a request only stop.

So you never did see the diverted Tahmoor Coalies? They probably wouldn't have been top and tail, so they would have been running as a "normal" coalie as the points are in the direction of trains coming from/going to Sydney.
